Wolftrap ES for kindergarten (in Vienna)

Anonymous
Has anyone had their child/ren start Wolftrap ES in Vienna for kindergarten? can you please share the experience? I'm considering parochial vs public.. I know Wolftrap is rated very high and many neighbors go there but haven't started there. I'd appreciate recent and honest feedback..

I am in the same boat. I am not sure yet what we are doing. We are considering keeping him at his current Montessori school, putting him at OLGC (testing is Feb 7 and 8 for that school), or getting a nanny instead of doing SACC every day. It seems Wolftrap and other half day schools are very limited with the current half day curriculum. I'm going to the school on February 16th at 2:00 for a tour and might have a better idea then. I plan on getting there early so we could talk more if you are able to go then.

For what it's worth, OLGC is certainly not known for strong academics. It does have a tight knit and welcoming community and I know for some families this is more important.

I'm also going on the tour the 16th- there is a movement to convert the remaining half day Ks to FDK and I hope they succeed. As for OLGC, I have received mixed reviews - in particular to a concern of mine (bullying) so we've eliminated OLGC from consideration.
