Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers
We just transitioned to whole milk and I am surprised how many fast-food outlets do not carry it (for when we are out running errands, I bring her snack with me). Obviously if there is a 7-11 etc around they will have it, but what about fast-food restaurants? Today I tried Caribou Coffee, Burger King, McDonalds, Chick-fil-a, Auntie Anne's and Mrs Field's before I finally found it at Cinnabon. Anyone have a list to make my life easier?
Starbucks comes to mind
I was at Starbucks yesterday, they only have reduced fat.

If you're just doing this once in a while, reduced fat is no big deal. Most places are not going to carry whole milk because it's not a healthy choice for most of the population.

We've been ordering milk from McDonald's. I assumed it was wholemilk bc it's packaged for kids.
I totally agree with this. There is no reason to run around looking for places with whole milk when 2% is just fine in a pinch. |
When we think of it, we bring out own carton of "lil milk" to restaurants, etc.
Reduced fat milk is fine once in a while for 1-2 year olds. The whole point of giving them whole milk is so that they get enough fat in their diet, which they need. So if they have reduced fat milk, you can give them some whole-milk cheese at another meal to offset it if you are worried.
Coastal Flats restaurant in Tyson's Corner has whole milk. Actually, I asked for low fat for my 5 yr old, but they said they only had whole.
I believe McD's has 2%.
Most Starbucks do have whole milk. You just have to ask the baristas to pour it vs. buying the organic milk boxes in the cooler.
