I just paid $60 for a haircut at Bubbles in Bethesda. It was my third or fourth visit there, and I'm sure I only paid about $45 three months ago. Have they jacked up their prices? I like them, but the reason I started going there was because they were so reasonable.
I know! I used to get blowouts there twice a week because it was a bargain at $20. Then last month, without warning, they raised it to $30. Foolish on their part, because I haven't been back since!
23:11, I have had luck with blowouts at the Hair Cuttery in Tysons Corner. $26 and does not require a lot of time or an appointment (it might be cheaper if your hair is not super thick like mine). I have gone to Bubbles once becuase I had heard good things about their blow outs...my hair looked terrible AND it was more expensive!
where is this fabled Tysons Hair Cuttery?
I used to go to Bubbles because it was affordable, but the last time I went the stylist was giving me the hard sell continuously and so I have vowed never to go back: first it was did I want a deep conditioning treatment as part of the shampoo, did I want to get my eyebrows done while I was there, did I want to get highlights & finally when I was paying and trying to leave did I want to buy their line of shampoo, conditioner & styling gel. When I said no, the stylist walked away in a huff obviously disappointed in me. It's too bad because it was a great haircut & it would be nice to go back -- I just don't want to have to endure the upsell.
