For ladies with broad shoulders

I have recently decided that I just have broader shoulders than the average woman and my rib cage is bigger around than the average woman...and then there are my boobs. Like if I buy a dress I have to buy a size or two up in order to be able to zip it the last inch or so. I have to buy suit jackets huge and have them tailored to fit my shoulders, boobs, and rib cage. Does anyone have any recommendations of places that have jackets, dresses, anything for the top half that might fit better off the rack?

I have the opposite situation (slender w/ small rib cage & average hips) and notice that european clothes are often just not cut right for me. OP, you might try Zara and Benneton. Benneton has awesome end of season sales, so there should be good buys in the next few weeks.

OP - I have similar challenges: strong shoulders and upper arms, large breasts (although a fairly small rib cage, 32DDDD), narrow hips. I do need to get things tailored if I want a really good fit, but I get a decent fit off the rack from:
* Boden (size up if you are between sizes)
* Ann Taylor
* J Crew (never skirts or dresses though)
* Tahari
* Tadashi

I stay away from Jones New York, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein.

A bra that fits properly will also help a LOT.
