Decent Prices to Europe

Has anyone found decent prices for flights to Europe this summer. Anything under $1,000 per person. Looking especially for UK and Ireland but could also fly to Amsterdam, Paris or Frankfurt and travel on from there. Would prefer to fly out of IAD in late June.

No, prices seem extremely high this year. I think they have cut back capacity a lot, every flight i have taken recently has been full, so now they have the market power to push prices up.

Thanks! Yes, I know it's the summer crush but even May is looking expensive. I'm not interested in going with two small kids when the weather is cold and dark. I've looked at BWI, Philadelpha, Newark, and JFK. Capacity is certainly down and any savings with flying from Newark or JFK are offset by the long drive there, parking costs for two weeks and the prospect of another long drive on the other side.

Oh well, we will wait a while and see what happens.

Try kayak for checking flights. I found $713 traveling in early may.

We were looking at flights to London the other day, and Virgin had some good prices for May. About $600 inc. taxes.
