Health and Medicine

Does anyone have a recommendation for a doctor or practice that does this type of care? I think it's time my husband and I both have thorough workups done to identify any health concerns. He's 46 and I'm 39, our DS is 4.5 months, want to be sure we're around for him for a long time to come.
TIA! |
Can't you see your primary care physician for a physical? They can order blood/lab tests and any scans, etc. that they think you might need at your ages.

I think Hopkins may do a full on work up -at least they did ten years ago. If I recall correctly, it was a program geared towards getting working professionals on board with monitoring. My boss went ( I was in my 20s at the time, so things like this didn't register very well -sorry about the less than stellar details), and I do remember that it took him awhile to get in.
To the PP, yes, internists can order certain tests, etc. But for many other things, they are more than likely to send you to a specialist, anyway (ex. annual skin check). Programs like the one OP is asking about are a one stop shop, where you get into see all the specialists on the same day or two for some of the more specialized (yet routine) screening tests. |
I would google/ ask around for "executive physicals."
Virginia Hospital center does one that models the Cleveland Clinic. Also, if you are willing to travel to The Greenbrier resort-they do one that I think is a step beyond Virginia Hospital Center.
The Chevy Chase Clinic advertises on the radio for this sort of thing.
Hopkins is good. Foxhall internists also have something very good. Don't waste time at the Greenbier...its more like a spa

How much does something like this cost? I assume insurance does not cover it?
PartnerMD in McLean was featured in Washingtonian.
My husband is doing Virginia hospital center for the "premium program"--it's 3,400 big ones but we think it's worth it.
