| I am not one to typically advocate for torture or the death penalty, but... |
| wow is right. You'll believe anything they write. So much drama and so little proof. |
You are mentally ill, aren't you? |
yep...too many vaccines to keep the herd safe!! |
| People who are dumb enough to continue to believe in the results of Wakefield's fraudulent study are those who are dumb enough to be incapable of processing that they've been tricked. It's pretty much a Catch-22. |
yeah, this debate is old and tired. Good luck with your baiting for a debate. |

well....ok....I'll bite for one more round here, then I'm going to bed. I'll check back with you in the morning though.

I too will bite. You obviously have never lived, and had children, in the UK immediately after the Lancet published Wakefield's findings. People lived in absolute fear of vaccinations. You didn't have single mom friends, strapped for cash, paying an equivalent of $1,000.00 for separated shots. Nor did you witness measles outbreaks and have to worry about your own immunity holding up while pregnant. You also didn't get the chance to watch a national call in television program with a group of doctors who had completed a major study that contradicted Wakefield's finding. You go ahead and believe Jenny McCarthy and her anecdotal stories. She's not a scientist and isn't even smart enough to play one on TV. http://news.discovery.com/human/jenny-mccarthy-dismisses-pediatrics-study-on-autism.html ""We're the ones seeing the real results." That is, according to McCarthy, the real results and advances in autism treatment are being made by ordinary moms like her who write pseudoscientific books falsely linking autism to vaccines. All those silly doctors with their randomized, double-blind studies don't know what they're doing. "And until doctors start listening to our anecdotal evidence ..." McCarthy, like many non-scientists, seems to think that stories and anecdotal evidence are just as good as -- if not superior to -- well-controlled scientific studies. Anecdotal evidence, basically first-person stories, must be confirmed with rigorous research in order to be validated. Her suggestion alone sets medical science back several hundred years, but her last statement is even more remarkable: "Every parent will tell you something different that helped their child." McCarthy doesn't seem to realize that with this observation she completely contradicts herself. She has claimed in her books and elsewhere that a strict diet can treat or cure autism, yet in the interview she said the opposite, that every parent says “something different that helped their child." That is, some parents believe that a special diet helped their child; others say dressing their child in certain colors helped their child; another says something different, and so on. " Wakefield has blood on his hands. He is also solely responsible for millions in avoidable healthcare costs and should be forced to pay those costs. http://www.dailyfinance.com/story/autism-vaccine-fraud-wakefield-cost-money-deaths/19793484/ |
| Who are you going to trust when it comes to the facts on vaccination? Consistent scientific research or the woman who made pig-faces and jiggled her boobs on MTV before marrying Jim Carey? |

Lets just leave these people to their straw men and call it a night. Not everyone concerned about vaccine safety reduces the side effects to autism and cites Jenny McCarthy as a source. I've never read a word she's written nor have I seen her do anything on television save a few funny shows that I happened to catch part of over a magazine or something.
We vaccinate our children but we do space the vaccines. We also ask questions about each and every vaccine before we sign something indicating that we understand what we're consenting to. We also feel that, by continuing to talk about vaccine safety, we spur our lawmakers to keep closer watch on the manufacturers and to make judicious decisions about whether and when a new vaccine is added to the schedule. I don't believe it does anyone any favors to pretend that vaccine deaths or injuries do not exist. They happen and should happen less often. Vaccines save lives. But they are not as safe as they should be. And they will only get safer if we demand that they do. Instead, the industry and lawmakers won't even do certain studies because they fear the act of undertaking the study will serve as evidence that parents' fears are founded. While I get it, I don't think that's very good science. |

This is incredibly unpersuasive. |
Well they have as their defense that millions of child deaths are prevented each year worldwide. |
