We are considering living in the Bells Mill Elementary district - what are your thoughts on this good? The good/bad/ugly? Thanks! |
We moved to Potomac to send our kids to this school. It is AMAZING. I posted the same question when we were considering moving and also got almost no response. I'm not sure if the community around there is too suburban, so the parents are not on DCUM? Anyway, great physical plant (and you might have noticed they are rebuilding Cabin John right next door, which is the middle school). Caring, interactive teachers. Rigorous academics. Not too pushy PTA, but lots of events to attend if you want to, etc. We haven't found one thing to complain about and are extremely happy with our choice. The overall neighborhood is great, too -- very safe and kid-friendly. |
Agree! We have a dd at Bells Mill now. Great community, involved parents, lots of after school activities, new school building, etc. |
Would you mind sharing which neighborhood 14:28 PP? We would love to move to that area as well, but can't get a feel for the surrounding neighborhoods. Are there any that are very cohesive and have lots of elementary aged kids? Thanks! |
14:28 here: Some of the nearby neighborhoods are: Inverness Forest, Inverness Village (townhomes), Fox Hills, off of Bells Mill Road (Harness Trail, Sleepy Hollow Lane). One child has a ton of friends in the Harness Trail/Sleepy Hollow Lane area; the other has many in Inverness Village. I would say that Fox Hills has more elementary-age kids than Inverness Forest, but it's also a bigger neighborhood. These neighborhoods are also nice because there are nearby swimming pools (Tally Ho and Inverness) that many families join for the summer. |
