Affordable workout clothes?

Anonymous
I need some new workout clothes and just cannot afford to drop $300 on 4 outfits.

For shorts, typical running shorts don't work well for me because I am pretty overweight and need more support in my lower abdominal area, so I look for shorts that are form fitting/stretchy, and aren't super short. I am probably pretty okay on finding tops, I have an okay assortment of those.

Why on earth is running/workout gear so expensive? Does anyone know where I can find some shorts and pants that fit my criteria? And FYI, they don't have to be those super cute matching outfits or anything like that.

Have you tried Target?

Definitely Target. I buy all my workout clothes there. For sneakers, try DSW.

Old Navy, too. But I find their stuff varies widely in terms of quality: I've bought some yoga pants that I swear rival Lululemon's and some that are practically see through after a couple washes! If you're really going to USE the hell out of them, I'm a fan of the cheaper stuff. That way, I don't feel I need to hang on to them after their useful life is spent.
