gyn as opposed to ob doc

Anyone have a gynecologist that they would recommend. As stated in another thread, Dr. Krinn is not taking new patients. I actually like my ob/gyn but am tired of having appts bumped for emergencies (always happens, every time). I definitely am past the point in my life where I need an ob - would like to find a gyn who presumably would not have as many emergencies.

Dr. Claudia Taubman at Ob/Gyn Associates at Holy Cross. She only does GYN. They have a new office in the Shady Grove area.

OK - Dr. Taubman is actually taking new patients and takes my insurance - so I made an appt with her. She certainly gets mixed reviews online - some very good, but others with various complaints. Any more info would be appreciated.

Reiter Hill has a few doctors who only do GYN. Not sure which, but I would definitely call and check, especially if you are close to the Friendship Heights office, which is fabulous.

I've been with Dr. Davis in Fairfax for 12 years and really like the GYN only practice.

Dr. Taubman! I think she's technically very good but she is NOT warm and fuzzy. So it depends on what you're looking for.

My doctor is Dr. Prikopenko (don't worry everyone calls him dr. Yuri. He was on the faculty at Georgetown bug has opened a gun only practice out in rockville. He delivered my first baby and I have followed him out to his new office for gun care. He is a terrific clinician with a fabulous bedside manner. I think the website is doctoryuri.com. Don't quite me.

Can't recommend Yuri Prikoupenko highly enough ( i wrote on the other similar thread too). He was my doc at georgetown and I followed him to his new practice.

Ditto on Dr. Carolyn Davis in FFX. She retired for a bit and I went back to her old practice which is OB/GYN. She is back practicing again with Dr. Judy Wolf.

remember that disgruntled people are more likely to review a doctor than happy people. so for every unfavorable review you see on a site, there are probably a ton of people who were perfectly fine and didn't feel the need to post. I know that I personally keep forgetting to fill out the surveys Kaiser sends me about our pediatrician - and we are thrilled with her. I probably have forgotten to fill them out for my doctor too, and I like her as well.
