Parenting playground social skills group

Anonymous
Has anyone done a social skills playgroup at parenting playgroups and if so did they find it worthwhile

We did a couple of them with my then 5/6 year old DS and we were happy with them. I spoke with the staff about my concerns, DS's personality, etc and they put him in a group they thought would be a good fit with him. The staff were excellent and the cost was reasonable. We're considering doing them with my younger DS as well.

Does anyone know of social skills playgroup in montgomery county md - possibly weekend based? This would be for a 4 year old boy who might need a confidence boost. He has some sensory issues but no other developmental delays (to our knowledge). His sensory issues might be affecting his self esteem and so raising his social IQ would seem like a good idea to help "plan for success." We do playgroups with friends on a regular basis and we are using OT (and other experts) to address the underlying sensory issue. (including continually tweaking our "sensory diet" at home to provide a "just right challenge"). We are very grateful that he can fully participate in lots of confidence boosting activites - gynastic classes, using a neighborhood playground, riding a bike...).

We were a little slow in getting our "team" assembled for the sensory issue (and the process never really ends), so to the extent some social skills help is needed, I want to be ahead of the game and address this prior to kindergarten. Any specific groups/contacts greatly appreciated.
