Floor buffer machine - recommendations pls?

Growing up (in another country) my mother had one of those and it made her life so easier - and the floors always so beautiful I have been longing for one for a long time, but wasn't even sure if they still made those for homes (I only see them in business places, such as malls). Anyways, recently, by a chance, I saw some on amazon and now I want one for my b-day! Can anyone here recommend a good one? The ones I was "used" too were only for buffing, but on amazon they have some that scrub the floor too - would be perfect for tiles I think. But do they really work well doing both jobs?
