Fake it until you make it: Make-up for the sleep deprived

On the tired mom's thread in GP, some posters recommended some makeup products that helped them *look* well-rested. Does anyone else have makeup product recommendations/tips?

Thanks.

this isn't a makeup tip, but wear clothing colors that are flattering for you. My coworker was wearing a great yellow shirt under a sweater yesterday, but yellow is NOT her color and she looked incredibly tired and washed out.

benefit erase paste is the first concealer I've ever used that actually comes close to covering my very dark undereye circles.

bronzer.

mascara wakes up your eyes. if you have the time, curl your lashes first.

Ditto on the bronzer. I finally bought some (NARS laguna) a few weeks ago, and it has made a huge difference. I no longer look like a washed-out zombie. People at work have actually told me that I look great lately but they can't place what the difference is, and I think it's the bronzer. Mascara is awesome as well. Brings more attention to the eyes, and takes attention away from the under-eye circles. I just bought some of that new revlon mascara that supposedly does something along the lines of latisse, and it's great. No clumps.

NARS Orgasm blush and mascara.

Also agree with PP to wear flattering clothes -- particularly flattering colors. For me, putting something pink near my face really brings out my coloring and makes me look a lot more awake and alive than I actually feel!

I agree w/Nars Orgasm, but must recommend the Illuminator -- just a bit on the cheekbones. Anything that bounces light off your face helps a lot.

I second the Benefit Erase Paste. I have always had the darkest circles under my eyes, even as a teenager. You can't even imagine how horrid they are now in my late 30s, a mother to a toddler with a second on the way. It comes pretty damn close to covering up the circles.

Also, a good blush and some highlighter. I'm partial to Benefit High Beam. My sister got me some for Christmas, and the first time I put it on my husband actually did a double-take...in a good way.

How do you apply the high beam in a way that looks natural? I got a free sample from sephora but when I tried it it looked a little clownish.
