Two mail bombs exploded nearly simultaneously today in two separate Maryland State Government office buildings -- one in Annapolis and one near Hanover.
http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/01/06/maryland.security.incident One person was slightly hurt. As a precaution, all mailrooms of the DC government have stopped delivery of mail. |
I just read (http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2011/01/06/packages_release_smoke_odor_in_md_gov_buildings/) that they were more stink-bombs than explosive devices. |
Whatever they were, one guy was burnt by one of them. Postal Inspectors just found a 3rd one in Baltimore.

PANIC get yout TP and milk ASAP
Why is this under Political Discussion? From my office At approximate 12:40 the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security received reports of two “detonated” packages creating small explosions that have been delivered to Maryland State facilities. No injuries have been reported as a result. The packages were delivered to the Jeffrey Building in Annapolis and the MDOT Headquarters in Hanover. Montgomery County is continuing to monitor the events and we are taking some protective actions. No Montgomery County facilities have been impacted. We will provide you with additional updates as available. |
It is terrorism, and terrorism is almost always a political act, especially when the target is the government. Is that not obvious? I did not read panic in any of the previous posts. You appear to be the first to bring it up. |
Heh. So I'm not the only County employee here. |
It's only terrorism if a Muslim does it. At least, according to the way NBC Nightly News presented it this evening. |
Now, two similar devices have been found in DC at the 3300 V St., NE mail facility. One ignited.

I hope they were OK! What a freak.
