My daughter just got her PSAT scores.
I was surprised that they did not seem to be scored the same way as the SAT's, so I am having trouble figuring out if she did well or not. I think her percentage was 90%, ie she scored better than 90 % of others taking the test, I guess. Does anyone have experience with these scores and if 90% is decent, or should I sign her up for a review course? Thanks in advance! |
The report should have the college board site on it, where you can enter the info on your child's report and get an equivalent for the SAT. Don't be surprised if the range is huge, though. My kid's had a range of 100 points. |
Thanks for your reply, we will try doing that. |
Add a zero to the end and that will give you an idea of the range your child might score on the SAT. I strongly recommend a review course for any family who can afford it (I'm a college admissions person). The competition is stiff to get in. If your child is capable of scoring in the 90% w/o prep...she should do even better with prep. My own DC went up 300 points after prep. |
I Agree. Sign her up for a review course. My DD scored in the 95th. She took a mini review course and scored an additional 200 on her SAT. |
