While on vacation in Boston, I went to a Homegoods with my sister and could not believe how much better it was than the one nearest to me, on Nicholson Lane in Rockville. Where are there better Homegoods around? I would definitely travel a bit - up to half an hour - to go to a better one, as I need a whole bunch of items for our house. Is there a "super Homegoods" somewhere in the DC/MC/NOVA region?
Thanks! |
| There's a brand new Homegoods at Tysons in the Marshall's shopping center. The Fairfax location is crappy...I'd say it's similar to the Rockville store. Ashburn is nice, but not as good as Tysons, and it's far! |

Most retail stores selections in the north are better than those in the south, because of the perceived market. Often times, old/last seasons merchandise is shipped to their southern counterparts within chains. I don't think stores admit this, but most anyone who has worked retail in the north can tell you this. There is a name for this, but I can not place it right now. |
It's based on market research. So it's not really just a random perception thing.

| I think the Olney one is pretty good. |
| Another reason to hate the South (as if we needed one). |
| There is a good one in Kingstowne in Alexandria. |
| It says a lot about you that you'll post this question in DCUM rather than just going to GOOGLE or to the Homegoods website and doing a LOCATION search. Are people really that lazy? |
| She/He was asking about inventory in the area stores, that's not going to be in Google. |
The OP was asking bout people's opinions of which Homegoods stores in the area have a good selection. This is not information that can be gleaned from the Homegoods website. Are you so lazy that you do not read posts carefully before bashing them? |
| I agree that the Home Goods in Tysons is stocked pretty well. In addition, I swear by the Marshall's that is in the same shopping center! |
OP here. Thank you for responding - this was exactly my point. I KNOW where the nearest Homegoods is (I even wrote that in my original posting). I just wanted to know if there were better ones around, and no, google won't tell me that, and neither will the HG website. And just as an aside, not only am I not lazy, but I'm also not nasty, either in person or on an anonymous website, and I really don't understand people who are. |
The title of your post is WHERE IS THE NEAREST HOMEGOODS. Yes? |
| I've never been to the Home Goods in Rockville, but I do happen to like the one located by my home in Waldorf, MD. They usually have a decent choice of eclectic furniture and home decor, and the store is usually clutter free and well organized...though I do happen to shop in the middle of the day during the week so Im unsure how it is on the busier shopping days! Good Luck! |
Nope. I'm not the OP, but even I can see that the subject is "Re:where is the nearest good Homegoods?" |
