have you taken CoQ10?

Hi, have you ever taken the supplement CoQ10? Have you seen any change/results/side effects?

Best of luck to all of us in the New Year! May we all receive good news in 2011.

I've been taking CoQ10 for a year now. No side effects or changes. Not pregnant yet either.

I started taking CoQ10 at the recommendation of my accupuncturist. I started taking it around July-August and I got pregnant in September. I am now 17 weeks. My doctor said that the CoQ10 is an antioxidant, so it can't hurt you and actually helps with heart health if nothing more. It's odorless and tasteless and easy to take. I had no side effects at all.

Good luck to you and I hope that you achieve success.

Can someone suggest a proper dosage? Thanks!

I think a doctor can answer this question better based on your medical history, health condition, etc.

I took it, not at the doses that I see other take it (which can be as high as 500mg/day- I took one, 100mg tablet/day), for 3 months prior to my successful IVF (my third try). I have no idea if it helped, because we changed a LOT of things with my protocol. But I am almost pretty sure that it didn't hurt.

i really liked the book "making babies" and it has recommendations about CoQ10 among other things.

I took 100 mg.

For fertility purposes, the recommended dose is 600-800mg/day. I don't think 100mg would have any impact on egg quality.

I took it & got pregnant the same cycle I started it, so I don't know if it could have helped. But I had been TTC for a year at that point & had 2 chemical pregnancies during that time. And the pregnancy stuck - my little sweetie is 4 weeks old today.
