Placenta previa

Anyone have any suggestions/experiences with placenta previa? I am almost 24 weeks pregnant and have a total previa.

There is still time to for it to move up. I was diagnosed w/complete @ 18 weeks and recently went for a sonogram at 32 weeks and it corrected itself. Educate yourself as much as possible in the event that it does not correct itself.

Its not uncommon at all. Most of the time it corrects itself. And, since your doctor is aware of it, even if it doesn't correct itself the doctor will take precautions to ensure you have a safe delivery. There is no need to stress about it at this point.

Could not agree more with the last poster. I completely freaked out when I was diagnosed with previa during my first pregnancy. After my OB talked me down from the walls, she helped me understand that if it didn't resolve itself by the time I was full term that they would take whatever precautions were necessary to protect me and the baby. I eventually saw one up side of the diagnosis, which is I got sonograms every visit! So, at least I got to see the baby a lot more than I would have otherwise. And to make it better, it did end of resolving itself by the 32nd or 34th week (I don't remember which...).

Good luck. You'll be fine now that your doctor knows what's going on!
