Hi, my friend told me that she had her local police station install her car seat for her. I would prefer to do that for peace of mind that it is done correctly. DH called our local police station in Alexandria and was told that apparently there is only one guy who does it - a retired officer who we called and has voicemail that he is booked until June 1 and call back in June. Anyone know of other "police installers" (for lack of a better word)?? Thanks! |

I think they do this periodically at the Alexandria Target (without an appointment). I have to get this done soon, too! |
Go to Children's Hospital to have it installed and inspected. It's in D.C. but worth the trip. Really. |
Some firemen know how to install them...we called one in alexandria when we wanted to know if our son could face forward. |
I second the rec for Children's - they did a great job for us and the hours are reasonable. We live in Alexandria too - FWIW. The drive was no big deal. |
Try the Arlington Fire station by Pentagon city--when I was pregnant they came to our house for something and told us to come by when we were ready for the carseat to be installed. |
