Kids With Special Needs and Disabilities

I heard this on my way in to work this morning and thought it might be of interest to you.....

3 months of chelation did wonders for my oldest son, who's neurological tics were becoming out of control. Tics are now gone. If I had left it up to mainstream medicine, my son would be on a coctail of pharmaceutical meds. Thank God he's better now.
Although I don't agree with all the points they're trying to make in this story, I appreciate that you posted something so controversial. It's a shame that most parents with special needs children will never consider testing their children for heavy metals. |
| I listened to the story going in and one thing that struck me was that this therapy was taking place at a legitimate hospital, not at a "clinic" run by someone actively promoting heavy metal poisoning as the "cause" of autism or ADHD or whatever, with chelation the "secret cure that mainstream medicine is deliberately suppressing." Note also that the chelation therapy undertaken by the girl in the NPR report was designed to reduce the accumulation of heavy metals in her body, not to "cure" her of autism or any other extraneous (to heavy metals concentration) condition. |
| She had lead poisoning, so this was the traditional use of the therapy. |
| Is chelation therapy a one time fix for lead/metal poisoning? Do children have to do this multiple times to see results? I keep reading about parents who claim that their child was recovered from ASD, ADHD, etc. but they never say how the process went, how long did the symptoms disappear? The article seemed to imply that this is an ongoing problem for the girl. |
It really depends. I have friends whose children have zero glutathione in their bodies. Glutathione is the body's natural method of detoxifying the body. Most ASD children lack sufficient levels of glutathione to detoxify the body when the body has been exposed to something in heavy doses like metals or toxins. For those children, not only does it take chelation, but glutathione supplements as well. So if a child has sufficient glutathione levels and chelates to the point of recovery, he's pretty much recovered and going to stay recovered....at least that is the experience my friends are having. Interestingly enough though, chelating has also resulted in the body's ability to create glutathione naturally. But, it can take a long time. Oral DMSA Chelation can take between 2 and 6 years to detoxify the body of it's heavy metal burden. And that is the safest route. IV chelation can show faster results, but is much more dangerous...I'd never do IV chelation, even with a doctor. That is how the child in PA died. I have only one friend whose children have regressed BACK into autism. The children were recovered through chelation and supplementation. Her husband insisted that they be vaccinated on schedule and both boys regressed again. Her funds were cut off so she cannot chelate or supplement further. For this friend, there is no doubt that vaccinations were the cause of her children's regressions. |
Any info on carnosine supplements? It is also suppose to help the body get rid of toxins/metals through the process of chelation. |
You should read the article. It states that the pill forms are not proven safe. The FDA has recently sent warnings to many of the companies who sell them. A child should only have it done in a hospital setting where they can monitor the kidneys and liver. You are basically putting a chemical in the body that binds to the heavy metals and then the liver and kidneys process it out. If you don't do it correctly you can overload the organs with the heavy metals and cause organ damage or death. This isn't something to do at home. It should only be done for cases of heavy metal poisoning in a hospital. |
