Recommend your printer!

We need a new printer. We have used HP printer, scanner, copiers in the past with fair success. The print quality is good, but the ink consumption has gotten worse with each printer. My husband and I are considering one of the Kodak printers, which cost more initially, but have cheaper ink refills and supposedly get more prints per cartridge.

So I have the following questions:
What do you use?
What do you think of the model's ink usage?
Would you recommend that model or another?

Thanks!!!

I had an HP 7280 and it was OK but it seemed to take forever to warm up and was not to quick for printing.

I recently got a Canon 870 multifunction and love it. But I can't answer the ink question.

You can often buy kits to refill inks on printers. It usually involves making a small hole in the ink cartridges and filling them through a provided syringe. If ink costs are a problem for you, you may want to consider this as a cost-saving measure.

Hands down the best printer I've ever owned. I gave up on the printer/scanner/fax combo's because one of the pieces always ended up not working.

This is a laserjet so the quality is better than an inkjet and a bonus if you don't use it all the time the ink doesn't wear out. They sell different cartridges for ink so I can't give a good estimate for how many pages per cartridge.
