Succession - Season 4

That Larkin poem actually showed up on Succession in season 1, at the family therapy scene.

Ha. If Gerry becomes CEO!!

Or cousin Greg…

So many calling it for Greg:

It would be such an excellent scene if we saw Greg sitting at a huge executive desk, berating someone mercilessly - who then turned out to be Tom.

I am team Not Greg. I have seen the Greg idea compared to making Bran Stark the King of Westeros. Gonna be a nope from me dawg.

Yes, I know. Of course it won't actually be Greg. That scene is just a fantasy of mine.

Was just coming to post this! There have been a few interviews with this composer regarding the Succession score. So interesting.

Will definitely read this, thanks! I love how the theme changes with the circumstances--in Italy it was languid, for the funeral it went to a minor key, et cetera.

Was it me or did the score sound off at the funeral? It was too upbeat or something for the occasion. I haven’t been to a lot of funerals but the ones I’ve been to had much more somber music.

I thought the funeral had beautiful music. Very moving. That's what always makes me cry - the music. The siblings also looked completely sober and shaken when the music started, as if they realized "this is real, it's actually happening."

I feel like some of you don’t realize this is a TV show

Finale prediction: Ken is going to end up on top. They have made him more competent, more ruthless, the last couple episodes. I think something will happen to either Roman or Shiv, he will completely backstab the other, and he is already having major family issues. Basically, they will all take their place in a new version of Logan Roy’s life.

I don't know.... think I agree with a PP that the death of the waiter is going to come back in the finale and take down Kendall. Team Gerri.

I feel like you don't realize that many of us work full-time jobs while taking care of kids and we need a little escapism.

Maybe a thread dedicated to discussing a TV show isn’t for you?

I’ve said all along that I think one of the siblings will commit suicide before the end of the series, as a parallel to Logan’s sister dying. Because I feel like succession is all about how the future generations repeat the past. My money is on Roman.

He is the youngest (like logan's younger sister) and is clearly in meltdown mode. But, this season they seem to have a new sibling come out on top at the end of each episode. Roman was flying high on the election night episode and then crashed and burned in the very next episode. So, Kendall could just as easily crash and burn and commit suicide in the finale. He has already had one suicide attempt in this series.

I also thought the whole time until recently that Roman was the youngest, but Shiv is the youngest.

Oh snap! Ok then maybe shiv does from a pregnancy complication brought on by the stress of her brothers screwing her over for CEO. It’s a stretch but it would be a Rose parallel!

Shiv seems like a better Ewan parallel with her liberal leanings. (Which I totally get that she’s not wedded to as she was deal making last week. But losing the fight over Waystar could turn her into a vocal liberal thorn for Kendall.) I think something will happen to Roman.

None of the siblings will die but none of the siblings will become CEO. An outsider will get the gig. Or maybe at best Geri. Kendall will crash and burn, as always. What if Holly Hunter comes back as CEO?!

The only offspring Logan loved was Waystar.
