reasonable place in Bridgetown/Barbados

I'm going to be in Bridgetown in January for work, and need suggestions as to reasonably-priced, safe places to stay until I start getting reimbursed for the hotel I am staying at for a work conference. (I know, tough life). I was hoping something around $100 but looking at hotels.com wonder if I am dreaming. Any suggestions?

Oh, and I will be arriving late at night so a place that is safe to travel to/from as a single woman is also key. Thanks!

I'm so jealous - Barbados is amazing. While I don't have any specific recommendations for you, I think you will find Barbados to be a generally safe place. I am a scaredy cat - but feel quite comfortable there. Since Winter is in-season - and you are going on short notice, I would imagine that it might be difficult to find a place in your price range.
