"Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale" at Landmark E St. Theater

This is a Finnish film about an evil Santa unearthed by a US corporation in northern Finland and how a young boy and his father and other men in the town defend the town. This is NOT for small children but it is very funny. Low budget: The "Americans" don't have American accents, which is also pretty funny. And a wonderful depiction of the relationship between the boy and his father set against rural Finnish hunting culture -- or so I assume -- I know nothing about Finland so I can't tell you what's a sendup and what is real. But overall a darkly humorous film.

BTW I am not a corporate flack. I just saw the movie tonight and loved it and wanted to make sure other people know about it.
