Good uses for IPad

Anonymous
I got an Ipad for Christmas, and I know that people love it and use it for all sorts of things. For example, I'm a trial attorney and see other people bring them in court all the time. I just don't know what for and feel too nosy to ask. My realtor says she brings it with her all the time and I have no idea why! So far, I've used it for internet and email. I would love to explore cool things to use it for since it was an expensive present (and my only one due to the cost). Any ideas, thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!

Check out http://www.iphonejd.com/. I have the Fed R Civ P, Fed Rules of Evidence, and a few CFRs on mine. I use a mind mapping pprogram to help diagram my cases (I also litigated and do internal investigations). I use iBooks And Good Reader to rearm stored PDFs, which can be witness memos, documents produced, pleadings and filings, transcripts. I take notes on my iPad during witness interviews (I use the pages program) and just purchased a blue tooth keyboard to make that even easier. I like to keep copies of research memos, lists of key players, time line of events, pleadings, etc. on my iPad and it reduces the amountbof paper I need to carry.

I got an iPad for Xmas too. I have downloaded a couple books and am trying to start borrowing from the library. I got a couple free apps for my kids and me. Other than usual Internet stuff that's about it so far. I suspect I will use it mostly for reading books because it is so easy

I came to the conclusion it is a waste but everyone raves about it becuase they do not want to say hey I bough this expensive toy and it is a waste- I will be first to say so, it is a waste but they have my money now. Oh well

At least I have my rabbit

If you get the blue tooth keyboard, it's easier to haul around than a laptop.

But for the money you could get a Macbook Air, and get all the functionality of Microsoft Office in Apple form. I have an iPod GS3 and a MacBook, and I'm set, really. I could never really understand the iPad thing either, except maybe for books (and for books I still like paper, I'm a luddite I know).
