An old article but I just saw it. Pretty interesting.

Thanks for the link. He grew up in the Atlanta area--always considered a great guy!

Looks stuffy.

It seems a bit 1980s to me with the faux stuff (Ralph Lauren style's heyday was about 2 decades ago) and like they are trying too hard for a certain liefstyle. The outside of the house is hideous. It is in that new development on Foxhall, Phillips Park (or whatever its called), that just ruins that part of Foxhall. The whole look just smacks of "nouveau."

Check out the Hotel Jefferson on 16th Street. Same old boys' club style. Nice for drinks after work, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to live there.

Not necessarily a hater; it does have a nouveau look though.

Their kid is going to REBEL big time. His play room is a crawl space under the stairs. They've already got his "big boy room" designed for him - striped wallpaper, framed coat-of-arms, rosewood furniture, dark bedding, oriental rug. Bleh! Poor kid.

whoa, not my taste at all (I think PP's comment about it being 80s is dead on) but to each their own.

I like it too.

I grew up in the 80's and it doesn't feel 80's to me. Maybe a bit of a masculine feel though.

Why do two adults and an infant require 7500 sq ft of living space? What a waste of energy and resources.

That's the biggest "crawl space" I've seen. Poor kid!

I thought the house was nice. The family is well portrayed, including the kid's medical issues, hospital donations and Bret's side jobs starting out.

Because they want it. They worked hard for it and have a right to have anything they want. That is what makes America great.

Yes, you are not the first person to say any of this.

I know I'm going to be called bitter and jealous but I think this whole house is so cheesy. If you have that much money, I think it's a cop-out to walk into the Ralph Lauren store and say "I want it all." Sort of akin to going to Rooms to Go. Seriously, take your time and pick out interesting pieces and meaningful artwork that matters to you. This has absolutely no personality and no character.
