Kitchen Aid. I bake all the time. I use it for thick doughs. I've had it for 10 years. It is the most reliable appliance in my kitchen. I love it.

Thanks for responding. Which Kitchen Aid do you have - some of them apparently don't do too well with Whole Wheat doughs.

The Bosch. It is wonderful for bread dough.

Our Kitchen Aid's gears had to be repaired, but it's over 10 years old. Apparently the current models are made with metal gears, not plastic. You could check to see how other brands' gears are made for comparison.
