Is that ridiculous?

I constantly wear my husband's sweatshirt which is with the name of the College he went on it.

I swear that every single time I worn it, it was just because that sweatshirt is damn comfortable
The thing is...every time somebody would approach me at random places and ask if I went to that College. I always answered: No, that is my husband's sweatshirt!

Now I just don't wanna use it anymore since I feel pretty odd when somebody asks me if I went to the same college he did and my answer is no (as I could only wear that if I really went to that college ).

Does it only happen to me and I know this is a silly question but if you ask somebody, oh did you go to this college? and the person says, no, it is my wife's shirt...do you thing that person is ridiculous?

I think some parents use their children college shirts, right?

OP here again...
and I really didn't know that his college was considered pretty good around here until people starting to ask me about it. I am from other country and never heard of his college and when I came to US and got married he was a professional already and not a student.

So I think his shirts are really comfortable so old they are.

I don't think it is odd at all.

It is because americans are obsessed with education status but they are all dumb at the end and don't know where is australia or something else besides mc donals.

I am also asked if I went to Langley High School every time I wear my husband's football sweatshirt. I just love it so much..damn comfy! ha..

If its a school that has a strong alumni following then the person asking probably went there. My husband gets excited whenever he sees someone with a logo from his school which doesn't happen too often.

It is hard to take you seriously. Your grammar is pretty poor, even for a second language.

I just assume that if someone's wearing a shirt from a college, they went there, and if they are wearing a sports team on their shirt, that they probably support it. Sometimes I'll ask about it as an icebreaker or if i have some connection. I'm always disappointed when someone's wearing a KU or KC Royals hat that *isn't* a fan, because I get excited when I see other KC folks out here.

I have sweatshirts from my brother's and sister's colleges. If asked, I just say, "my brother/sister went there, and I'm a fan" and that's that. no biggie. I rarely wear shirts from my own college because it's got a certain reputation and I don't always feel like being judged based on that, since I don't fit the stereotype of the school's students. (wealthy.)

Why bother? In the real world, it's only important if you can speak good English!
