Why are the roads in Mclean so bad?????

Did VDOT not get the memo about snow or did they hire Marion Barry to run their snow removal? It's worse than the District out there. I'm so mad!

Minimal trucks in Loudoun and only on the VERY main roads. I called my husband and work to tell him that the roads are much worse than you would expect with such a small amount of snow. I passed SEVERAL accidents/cars in the ditch on my short drive home after getting my daughter from preschool. I'll be staying put tonight.

What I don't get is I saw trucks out this morning, before the snow started. Some getting into place, some pre-treating...they were out, many of them. And now...nothing. Weird.

Mclean was AWFUL. Awful awful awful. Took me 2 hours to get from 123/GW parkway to Burke.

It took DH 3 hours from D.C. (national mall) to get to downtown Mclean through GW Parkway.

They have absolutely no clue about tending to snow in the D.C. area. You will not see the plows, salt, sand anything used in a timely manner.

And wait for it, they will claim (as they have for at least each of the last 20 years) that they hardly get snow here. Do they think we are all deaf, dumb and blind?

Snow is the perfect example of how little common sense exists in this area!

My favorite are those drivers that stop short and actually don't expect you to land in their front seat. Dumb f*cks.

Just wait until you get to the grocery store......

They don't plow the roads until there is 3" on them. They just treat with chemicals (prior to and during). They rely on the cars driving on the roads to make tracks.

So says the annoying traffic guy on WTOP.
