Pathetic. We now have a tax deal that gives tax cuts to the rich, tax cuts to the middle class, tax cuts to every working person via payroll tax cuts, AND extended unemployment benefits for people who can't take advantage of giveaways one through three.
(And no, extending the Bush tax cuts was not keeping the status quo. Bush explicitly proposed those as temporary stimulus. We have decided to forget this inconvenient fact, but the record is clear. We are reneging on the deal that allowed those cuts to go into place in the first place). Sixty percent of the people in this country effectively agreed to use government debt to put money back into their pockets. We have no right to criticize our politicians for fiscal irresponsibility. They are doing our bidding. We are the problem. |
Obama approval falls into the 30's.http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.cfm?ID=1931 |
Rasmussen has him at 47%. Reagan was at 35% at this point in his first term. |
The GOP might turn around the economy for Obama. Then he will be ok (and hopefully wiser). |
