Hotel recommendations for NY

Looking for a good place to stay with my husband and 3 yr old near Times Square. Do not want to pay a huge amount of money but would like somewhere clean and quiet. If you have any good recommendations of places to go and see with a toddler please feel free to throw some ideas around. TIA

We just got back from a long weekend trip to NYC.

We stayed at the Marriot Courtyard. WALKED everywhere (even at 7 months preg.). Only took at cab 2x and that was to/fro the Penn Station.

All the hotels are expensive though (we got a discounted rate through Friends & Family) - anywhere in the $600-800 range.
