Anyone used the donor egg program at Dominion?
Please let us know what your feedback is. Also, how many cycles and donors did it take until you were successful, and how much did you have to spend (above the flat fee of $20K) for the donor meds, fees, etc ? Lastly, did anyone have problems conceiving within the 15 months allotted by Dominion? DH and I are leaning towards Dominion, as opposed to Shady Grove, due to their larger donor pool and reputation for attracting better donors. However, we're concerned about all the services that are not included in the program fee, not to mention the 15-month and 2-3 embryo transfer requirement. Thanks |
| I don't know anything about Dominion. I'm considering DE at Columbia and am disappointed in the number (14?) of donors. I looked at GIVF (easy to find online) and they have 154 donors. I plan to investigate Columbia and GIVF before making a decision about where to go -- and probably add in some others. Columbia also has a buy 2 get 3 cycles, and are flexible about the # of embryoes to transfer. |
| GIVF doesn't really have that many donors according to my experience, each one I was interested in was "unavailable" |
| OP, DH and I had a good experience with Dominion Fertility, their egg donor coordinator is really good. She helped us every step of the way and now that we have one DC, I'm so glad we have frozen embies to use for a natural cycle FET. In the end we paid the same at as anyone using Shady Groves shared risk using one donor split 3:1, which may have left us with nothing but wasted time. It's not just the money, but how many cycles can anyone emotionally handle? At DF we did a donor cycle 1:1 then a single embryo transfer for DC, and now we are ready to do an FET with a single embryo transfer. |

To PP:
Thanks very much for your feedback. I'm curious about the single embryo transfer that Dominion did for you, when you had extras leftover to freeze. Does Dominion not require that 2 or 3 embryos be transferred, even though the DE IVF agreement says that? Although I wouldn't mind twins, I would prefer a singleton so I have the best chance of having a healthy, full-term pregnancy. |
| I think DF mostly does single ET, we did a single blastocyst transfer after DE, and plan to do a single FET, I don't recall anything in the guarantee program saying you had to transfer 2. |
