The in-laws are visiting and my MIL wants to cook a beef wellington for dinner. I have no idea where to get one. Apparently it needs to have the fascia taken off by a butcher

Costco has cheap beef tenderloin.
This guy is a good butcher if you want something higher quality: http://www.letsmeatontheavenue.com/ |

I usually get ours at SAMs club, you can get the whole tenderloin and get a bunch of meals out if it. We usually do a roast for dinner, cut some of it into steaks to freeze, and cut up the ends to make stir fry or beef stroganoff.
It is not hard to cut off the silver akin, which is I think what you are Refering to as the fascia, you don't need a butcher to do it, just a sharp knife You can get a smaller portion from a butcher, or the whole thing, but it will be more expensive. |
I s Costco tenderloin cheap in price or quality or both? |
The quality is solid but not great - it isn't dry aged etc. It is good value for the price. But for a special occasion you can get higher quality from a good butcher or Wholepaycheck. |
| not sure if you're close to one but balducci's would have a nice beef tenderloin |

You won't have to worry about making a mistake or getting so-so tenderloin. Also in my experience, you have to be careful at Balducci's. The butchers may or may not know how to pick the best part of the tenderloin and tie it for you, etc. |
| Wegman's is terrific quality, but a bit pricey. It's always melt in your mouth tender. |
