hummus sell by date is Nov 20

I would toss at this point if it had already been opened. If the plastic is still sealed you are probably okay. I find that hummus can start tasting a little sour too far past the sale date. On the other hand there are shelf stable types of hummus but I dont know what makes them shelf stable. They never taste as good.

If it was unopened, I would eat it no problem (as long as it looks ok). But I like to live on the edge.

I agree with the PP. I regularly open the Costco hummus past the sell by date and it's fine.
