Any Menopausal Women Here?

Anonymous
I am 45, and think that I'm starting to feel/see the effects of menopause.
I'm feeling very thick and bloated lately. My stomach is not as flat as it used to be.

Any diet changes you can recommend?

Absolutely! Unfortunately, I have no recommendations.

strength training. A lot of the effects of menopause are due to loss of muscle mass. That lowers your metabolism.

I don't think targeted exercises can totally eliminate the post menopausal belly, but I have found that doing a lot of abdominal exercises does trim the area somewhat. At least I don't have jiggly flesh - I bulge out more than I use to, but my belly is taut. I think I am stronger in the abdominal area than I ever have been even though I have lost my concave belly!!

perimenopausal

sorry to say, but the belly softened for no good reason at around 43.

Hello there --

Not sure why you think you are in menopause, but at 46 I have been confirmed that I am in menopause based on a blood test.

I have no info on how you can keeo you abdominal's tight, but wanted to share that if you are entering menopause at this earlier than average age, you are at increased risk for a wide range of ailments, and according to my OB/GYN, a lower life expectancy. Who knows, but as a result, I am diligent in keeping on top of my health.

Any physician's out there? I assume that given the HRT studies announces over the last month or so, that it is out unequivocally?

Getting old sucks!
