CM after the fertile period?

Another CM question.

I just had my anticipated fertile period (based on CM and OPK) and DH were TTC during this time. Now, 10 days later, I'm noticing CM again. What is going on? Looking back on my charts I don't have this second surge of CM. Am I ovulating again? Were the previous TTC efforts fruitless? This is suppose to be the 2ww before my period.

I''ve been charting the CM for a few months now and this is strange.

Any thoughts?

If your following the TCOYF method, I think there may be a mucus similar to the fertile one right before or during your period when the uterine lining breaks down.

Maybe your pregnant...? The HPT won't reveal anything until after your suppose to get your period, but excessive cervical mucous might be a sign of pregnancy. Your body is creating the mucous plug (one of the barriers your body creates to keep the baby healthy).

I used to get EWCM close to my period, too -- then again, I have reaaaally long cycles (like 40 days), so maybe I'm not "normal." Pregs now, though, so it's nothing to worry about, even if you didn't hit the bullseye this month.

OP - I sometimes experience the same thing and have had some people speculate that it may mean I'm pregnant, but so far that hasn't been the case. It doesn't seem to effect the length of my cycles, though.

I noticed the same thing after I started charting. And I drove myself crazy thinking it was an early sign of pregnancy. It wasn't. As a PP wrote, sometimes it is just a sign of mensturation b/c the lining of your uterus is breaking down.

In my case I get excessive white discharge after ovulation because of progesterone.
