rec'd schools for a 4 yo child diagnosed on mild end of ASD?

Anonymous
currently our child is 3 and in an inclusionary setting. current setting is working well but wanted to get thoughts on other schools since now is the time to think of such things for next fall.

what public options are there in MoCo or Fairfax? are the programs full time?

what about good private school/montessori options (we already know about st columba and ncrc)?

my apologies in advance if this has already been covered in other threads. i am new to this forum and am not sure if there are pinned topics somewhere that address FAQs under which my post would most likely fall.

thanks!

the maddux school in rockville. it is AWESOME. next year it will go thru 2nd grade. some kids there are mild spectrum, some have anxiety stuff, all have pragmatic language issues. teachers are INCREDIBLE.

Ditto this rec.

Our DC did the 4 yr old PEP collaboration class (integrated) at Montgomery Knolls last year, and it was amazing. Unfortunately, it was only half day, but the teacher was really phenomenal, and the therapists were great too.

We're now another family that has drunk the Maddux cool-aid. Believe me, I would be rolling my eyes at all the Maddux praise-singers if I weren't seeing first hand how incredible it is. DC is absolutely blooming there.

Good luck, OP.

Fairfax County has some great Preschool Autism Classrooms that are all day as well as half day Special Ed Preschools. We're very happy with ours and because we don't have to pay for it, we can supplement more with private therapy.

OP here again. Are the Fairfax Co classroom inclusionary settings? Which schools?

Perhaps I could just do a little digging on my own if you could give me a website to start with?
