Now that we've learned when the 3rd graders will be taking their test, does anyone have any information about it? From the letter I got yesterday, I know that it's a 2-hour test. Does anyone know the name of the test? |
I believe it is the CoGat. |
I don't know the name of the test, but it consists of verbal, math and a logic sections. |
Is it like the SCAT test from CTY? |
OP, here. Thanks for your help. |
Five years ago, when we were doing it, they used the CoGat for the second grade screening, and the SCAT for the third grade test. Same test as CTY, but a different level (one used upper elementary, the other middle, don't remember which was which). They also had the kids do a written essay. |
I don't think that's the case anymore. Now it's Raven/Inview for second grade screening and CoGat -- I think -- for third grade. |
It is the Raven and Inview now and they're given in 2nd grade. 3rd graders may be rescreened if they were borderline. |
All 3rd graders who apply to a center are rescreened (with a different test) |
The third grade center test is the CoGat.
All second graders are screened with Raven and InView. |
Is Imview the same as Terra Nova? |
No Terra Nova is also given to 2nd graders..it is more like a general achievement test that schools use to predict the 3rd grade MSA results. |
