What are you top two cook books right now? Mine always change.

Mine are - Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day and The King Arthur Flour Baker's Companion.

Probably How to cook everything and Artisan Bread in 5 minutes a day, but if epicurious counts, that would probably be #1.

For humor and a few comfort-food recipes: The I Hate to Cook Book.

For basics: Fannie Farmer (veggies) and Joy of Cooking (roasts)

For more interesting sides and main dishes for work nights: Real Simple Everyday (or something like that)

For baking: Betty Crocker, circa 1965

Epicurious.com figures pretty heavily in my research for new recipes.

I am a huge fan of anything from Cook's Illustrated/America's Test Kitchen. I have never made a bad meal from them. Every late summer/early fall they put out a 30 minute meal cookbook at the newsstands that rocks. I find it every year at Whole Foods.

I don't know if this title is same as PP's, but I LOVE this book.

It's not fancy food, but they did a lot of taste testing have recommendations for how to save time and keep flavor. The recipes are great for family fare: mac and cheese, tuna casserole, meatloaf.

I can't do most of their recipes on the first take in 30 minutes, but truly can after making them once or twice..
