Velvet pants - how to style?

I just bought a pair of black velvet bootcut (though almost a trouser cut) pants. What do I wear them with?

I bought them at Nordstrom Rack for $50 last weekend -- CJ by Cookie Johnson.

Look at the Boden website for ideas on styling. You can find some similar pants on there and then make an outfit. Personally, I'd probably wear a sheer top with them.

Given the cut of the pants, a terrific white blouse would be great, too. Something with classic tailoring but in a drapier fabric or a crisp white fabric with a little something extra in the styling-- like great cuffs and some shirring. Then you could accessorize with pretty jewelry and shoes.
