Infertility Support and Discussion
Has anyone been treated at both these clinics? Any preferences? I'm currently at Dominion but I'm thinking of switching to Columbia due to insurance and location issues. If you are a patient at CFA, can you go in for monitoring at any of the CFA offices? Thanks
I did consults with both practices and am currently a patient with CFA. I decided to go with CFA for a variety of reasons, but the main one was that I just did not click with Dr. D. I see Dr. Sacks, who has a excellant beside manner and was just a better fit for me. I monitor out of the Arlington office, but I have a friend that monitored out of both the Arlington and the Bethesda office and it was not an issue.
I also saw Dr. Sacks and really liked him. I only monitored out of the DC office, but I know other people who saw him in DC but monitored at the other offices. If you are just doing routine bloodwork or sonograms for IUIs, then having them done at the Arlington or Bethesda offices is no problem. If you are doing IVF, he does all of the sonograms himself, so you would likely have to go to DC for that.
I have been a patient at both. I preferred Dominion due to I appreciate the frank, direct manor in which Dr. D works...I'm not at all offended by it. I felt that CFA wasn't as thorough as they should have been...I also found that they weren't as open to new fertility research as Dominion. Ultimately, it is a personl decision...but I ened up getting answers when I finally switched to Dominion.
Definitely Dominion Fertility, Dr. Gordon was very thorough and found issues missed by CFA and SG. DF is not convenient for me, but it is worth the extra time in traffic.
