I was planning on working up until 4 days before my scheduled c-section...but my back is really hurting me. hard to sit at work, but then again, would be hard at home too.
What is normal for people to do. I have 5 more weeks til our baby is here ! |
I worked up until I went into labor, which I think is the norm -- unless you're put on bed rest or something. |
Ah, I wish I was in Europe (where I'm from) where my friends all stop six weeks before due date. |
I wanted all my leave for after my daughter's arrival. I ended up taking leave about three days before she arrived. It was 2 weeks before my due date, but I knew it would happen in less than a week.

If my body will allow, I am planning on either working up to my due date or the two weeks prior to my due date (unless the baby comes early, of course). But, I'm still planning out my maternity leave and vacation. My baby isn't due until Thanksgiving, so I have some time to plan. |
I worked until I went into labor at 40w2d. I wanted all my leave for after the baby was born. It was July, and I was miserable, but I did it anyway. |
I worked until I had my DD.
If you are seriously in pain then get a doctor's note putting you on bed rest and excusing you from work - FMLA, STD, or whatever is applicable in your situation may apply. ...otherwise, if your doc. won't do that then you'll have to suck it up for a little while longer (or take personal leave). |
I planned on working until 1 week before her due date, but she decided to come a bit earlier and I missed my last day of work. |
I had planned to work until my due date (5/13!) but I wimped out today and called out for the rest of the week.
I just feel uncomfortable and tired and not like dealing with the superficial busywork that they had me set to do this week since I can't really work on anything mission critical. It's nice to have the time to just relax and do minor chores around the house. |
I planned to work until I delivered, but took off after my due date. It became so stressful to have to send a memo every night to my team about where I was on assignments every night "just in case" and my job is way too busy to coast by for a few days. So as long as I was here, I had to work, and it was too stressful to be mid-assignment and not know if I could finish it. I ended up delivering a week later, which I was surprised about. But I'm not sorry. I have good memories of lounging around and getting pedicures with MIL that week. Plus it was over a major holiday, so it was nice to be off. |
Scheduled C on 5/28. Last day at work is 5/22, which will only be a half day to tie up all loose ends. I am sometimes uncomfrotable at work, but my other option is being uncomfortable at home.... |
I had planned on working until I had the baby, but as I got further along only until my date. Finally, I stopped the Friday before my due date. I went 4 days over. Even now that I am very recently back at work, I am still happy for those few relaxing days before my daughter was born. |
Till a month before the due date. |
I'm having the same dilemma. I would rather save my leave for after the baby arrives, but I'm already feeling very uncomfortable and would like to be able to tell clients and co-workers when my last day in the office is (barring an early arrival). My due date is 5/27, and I'm now considering just making 5/23 my last day. (Again, unless I'm lucky enough to deliver earlier!) Obviously it will be unfortunate though if I then don't deliver for another 2 weeks... |
i am due on july 4th and my last day here (ever, since i am going to a SAHM) is may 30. we decided giving me a month to wrap things up around the house would allow me to ease into being home. the extra stress wasn't worth the money i'm losing. |
