| I posted a while ago about a dry cough that kept me up at night...I had it for one week, and now I have had an additional week of a productive cough. It's not showing any signs of going away. Ugh. Is it unusual to have a cough for two weeks? I'm not prone to this...Actually, this is my first experience with a persistent cough. Thanks. |
| It would be unusual for me if I had one for less than the entire winter. November to March, gets better, gets worse, gets better, gets worse... |
PP, is your cough constant? I feel like I'm coughing all day long. |

If it's from the common cold, two weeks is not uncommon.
Are you sure it isn't allergy related? |
| I just finished up the coughing phase for a cold I had 3 weeks ago, which was unusual for me. |
| I got sick with a nasty cough in July...It finally went away completely in September. Yeah, they can linger for a l o n g t i m e. |
| I got a cold from my 2 year old and was surprised at how long the cough lasted.... A good two weeks! It was mostly a dry, unproductive cough. Drove me nuts and I think the folks at work, too. Did finally go away, though! |
| I'm on week two of a dry cough following a bad cold. Last night was the first time I didn't wake up 4 hours after going to sleep so I could go cough in the bathroom so I didn't wake up the whole house. Good times! |
| A cough can last for weeks! or months! |
