Infertility Support and Discussion

I have one coming up and I keep forgetting to ask - is there any flexibilty?
How long does the whole procedure take? Unfortunately, I have an important meeting during the week the IVf may happen and am hoping to get back home to get on a conference call before a certain time. Pretty sad. |
| Be careful about scheduling anything on the day of retrieval, which is usually in the morning because the medications can make you a little goofy. |
| They schedule IVFs really early. I remember that we had to be at the clinic for retrieval at like 6:00 am. It all depends on your procedure. I wasn't affected by the meds but others are. I could have easily gone to work, if I had to. You aren't allowed to drive for 24 hours after the anesthesia. If you are scheduled for transfer before your meeting, it won't be an issue. Transfer is quick and doesn't require anesthesia. |

Op again - so if my IVF is scheduled for 8am, what time would I be done with the procedure and rest period?
|
| I would say to plan to be there at least an hour after your procedure (which is usually ~15 minutes). |
