Nurse says I'm not having my period...but I am

Anonymous
So was supposed to start a new cycle of clomid-went into the office for my sono and blood work. Per my usual I have cysts. But for the first time my estrogen levels are high. So the nurse (whom I like a lot) says that I'm not really having my period now, despite the fact that it started as usual is is otherwise totally normal. Going to ask the doc about it tomorrow but am somewhat confused. Anyone else ever been here?

Just went through this. I had a very short cycle last month after canceling my injectible cycle due to OHSS. I started spotting then a few days later was sure I was having my period, went in on what I thought was day 3 and they said it wasn't since my progesterone levels were too high. The nurse even commented that it was heavy for spotting, but my progesterone was what they went by. I called back a few days later after two days of heavy flow and they brought me in for blood work and confirmed I had officially gotten my period. So it's probably normal.

It's confusing, but your estrogen and progesterone should be low on day one so even if you are bleeding they don't count it as a true day one or day 2 two until levels are at baseline.
