I have a colleague who is offended by any notion of THanksgiving or Christmas. She seems racked with guilt, but I wanted to wish all the families of DCUM happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas, as we are slowly moving toward a time where these 2 terms are becoming more and more taboo. |
Why is she offended? Is she a Jehovah's Witness? |
She is offended because Thanksgiving is symbolic of us stealing the nation from it's original owners. |
Don't worry, OP, it'll be OK. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too.
I hope you are thankful for all you have, and that God blesses you more than you deserve. |

Well let's say this, if they wanted it, they should have fought for it. How many times did you fight with your siblings over the wishbone or drumstick? The one who really wanted it ended up with it. |
OK, so what's her beef with Xmas? |
I am not American.
But I think a holiday to give Thanks is a beautiful idea, and jump on the opportunity to celebrate it with my children while we live in the US. I feel that Halloween and Christmas commercially encroach more and more on Thanksgiving - which is a shame. So Happy Thanksgiving and early wishes for a Merry Christmas! |

How does that explain the Holocaust? |
I only know about drumsticks and wishbones |
Did you miss your American Hustory class in High School? |

Thanks, OP, and a festive solstice and Happy Hanukkah to you! |
How dare you wish me a Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas? What makes you think I can't be happy or merry without you telling me what to do?
Relax; that's just my perverse sense of humor playing on our tendency to turn everything into a fight. May all your snow stay white until it melts, and may your new year be the happiest so far. 8) |
