| I just read that they recommend you take off rings and watches to go through the screenings. I've never done so in the past and haven't had a problem at all, though I know some people do remove those items. I'm just worried about losing my wedding rings/watch but I guess the obvious answer is to put them somewhere safe in your carry-on bags and then put them back on? |
| If its real it won't set the buzzer off. There is no way I'm taking my wedding ring off for TSA. Not a chance. |
| just keep it inside a partition in your bag and put it on after you passed through security |

I was listening to a show this morning and they said that for the new scanners, you have to take EVERYTHING off and out of your pockets, even non-metal items. I suppose it's because it all shows up on the image, and if there's anything not removed (and therefore examined separately by TSA) they can't tell if it's some sort of weapon, but the show wasn't totally clear on it.
Rings seem like they'd be different though, because a ring would show up as obviously a ring, and it doesn't seem like there's much else it could be. |
| You are talking about TSA agents where the collective IQ is less than 100. |
| What if you are not able to take off your wedding rings? Some days I can but others there is not a chance! |
| This is an absolute outrage. OUTRAGE! |
| Wonder if body piercings and jewelry set off the scanners? I'm thinking it would be awkward for someone to remove a nipple ring or etc. |

Could you put them in your purse? Your valuables (wallet, etc.) are in there anyway. I rarely wear jewelry, but that's what I do with mine when I travel. The coin purse in your wallet is a good spot for rings.
I flew this past Thursday and Sunday and didn't feel like anything was different at either airport of my trip. Followed the same procedures I always do, walked through the same x-ray machines and had my daughter's milk tested by TSA like I had in the past. No difference whatsoever, that I could determine. |
