Insomnia

Anonymous
I was wondering if anyone else here suffers from insomnia.. My husband works overnight, so I don't ever dare take anything to help me sleep unless he's off because I don't want to pass out too deeply, and not wake up if DD wakes up... Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I am writing this at 2:14 am, and am really looking to hopefully be asleep long before now in the future.

Thanks in advance.

Signed,
Tired but awake.

Here is what I do. I lay down and force myself to "quiet" my mind. I allow no thoughts to race and just make my mind go blank. Then I tighten my body and relax one area at a time i.e. legs, arms etc--I keep doing this the "tightening" body and relaxing one area at a time a few times and suddenly I am asleep. I learned this from a therapist. It works for me. Also..no caffeine after 4 p.m.

Thank you for answering everyone..

I try to make my thoughts stop racing.. I just don't know how you do it... I haven't tried the body tightening and loosening thing, I'll try that...

I really hope it's not perimenopause.... I'm only 26!
