They are a historic preservation oriented group of well over the advertised 100. Members include Phil Mendelson, as well as former Councilmember Jim Nathanson, and also a couple of folks I have known for years. I think this is a classic preservation vs development tiff. I think a fundamental factor in this fight is the fact that the District government structure puts historic preservation under the Office of Development.
