Russian daycare

Does anyone know of a Russian daycare in Washington DC?

We are also interested in a Russian daycare. Have you had any luck?
Our son is 14m months and we are hoping to find some type of nice situation. At the moment he is living with his grandparents at the dacha, but when we get back to DC in September we will need to arrange a full-time care situation. If you've found something, we'd be so happy to learn about it. If you havn't, would your situation lend itself to a nannyshare?

Take a look here.

It is large, comprehensive and they provide quality food.

16:28, can you elaborate on why you wouldn't recommend the Lyceum? I am looking for Russian-speaking daycare for my child and was considering checking them out. What should I know about?

I think there is a preschool at the Russian cultural center on Phelps St in Kalorama DC - my children have gone another bilingual program across the street (Spanish - Kids Corner) and I see parents bringing and picking up toddlers from a building with a Russian flag and diplomatic emblem. I don't see reference to a preschool on the website, but you might try them and see (or maybe they will have other suggestions): http://www.rccusa.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=38&Itemid=53

My son goes to the Russian Art studio in Bethesda and he is really enjoying it. We went before everywhere. The Art teacher is Russian artist and he is great Art Instructor. I know they have weekend Russian classes also. here is the website of that amazing place. I would recommend it. They have daycare also, but no openings.

How big are their groups? My DS does really well in small groups (-5-6 people) but gets distracted in a large classroom....

There is Art classes for 2-3 years old up to to 4 kids and Russian class for up to 4 kids. Older kids, 5-7 years old doing good with group classes, up to 7-8 kids. You can talk to instructor and request private class or a very small group.

This sounds good. I will check them out.

As far as I know, there is nothing in DC proper. Maryland has lots of options, Virginia does too. I live in VA so I know these options better:

Metaphor school in Falls Church - full program, preschool, daycare, weekend classes, enrichment activities.

Weekend Russian classes in Arlington:

Virginia Russian Academy:

St. Luke Methodist Preschool has a Russian room

Tyson's Child Daycare - home daycare in Pimmit Hills run by a native speaker principal. She also runs a preschool in Falls Church City.

Sorry to revive this topic again, but do you by any chance know if they are planning to reopen the daycare? We are thinking about moving to DC in a year-two and hoping to figure out the Russian daycare situation.

Another question: is there a Russian storytime in NoVa for the "younger" crowd?
